Code of Conduct: our principles

These principles guide how we recruit, employ and work with others. They are a minimum standard that supplements the law and agreements.

This is a translation of our Finnish Code of Conduct. If the versions differ, the Finnish version prevails.

Who the principles apply to

The principles apply to Wellpack Oy, its employees, including temporary agency workers, and to subcontractors and other partners acting on our behalf. We require the same of our subcontractors and partners.

The principles do not replace laws or collective agreements. Where the law or an agreement sets a stricter requirement, we follow it.

Laws, sanctions and fair competition

We comply with the laws and regulations that apply to our business, including international sanctions. We compete fairly and in line with competition law.

We are a member of Henkilöstöala HELA ry, the Finnish staffing industry association, and we follow its code of practice.

Fair recruitment

We recruit openly and treat everyone equally.

Our commitments

  • We do not charge job seekers or employees any fees for job placement, recruitment or temporary agency work.
  • We collect an applicant's data primarily from the applicant and from other sources only with their consent.
  • We select applicants on the basis of their skills and the requirements of the job.
  • Language requirements are based on the actual requirements of the work.
  • We tell applicants the pay or pay range early in the recruitment process and at the latest before the interview.
  • People make recruitment decisions. We do not make them solely by automated means.

International recruitment

Where applicable, we follow Business Finland's principles for ethical international recruitment.

In practice

  • The employer pays the costs of recruitment. The worker pays nothing for recruitment or for the job.
  • The employment contract and terms are explained in a language the worker understands.
  • We do not take possession of a worker's passport or other identity documents.
  • We explain the conditions of the residence permit, including what the end of employment means for the permit.
  • We notify the authorities of the end of employment as required by law.

Pay and working hours

We pay at least the wage required by law and the applicable collective agreement and comply with working time legislation. In temporary agency work, we apply the client company's collective agreement as required by law. We go through the terms of the employment contract with the employee before it is signed.

Occupational safety

Together with the client company, we make sure our employees receive induction, the protective equipment they need and information about the hazards of the work. We do not accept working under the influence of alcohol or drugs. Drug testing is carried out only in accordance with the Act on the Protection of Privacy in Working Life (759/2004).

Equal treatment and harassment

We treat everyone equally. We do not discriminate on the basis of age, origin, nationality, language, religion, belief, opinion, political activity, trade union activity, family relationships, state of health, disability, sexual orientation, gender or any other personal characteristic.

We always take action against harassment, bullying and other inappropriate treatment.

Freedom of association

We respect employees' right to organise and to negotiate their terms of employment.

Child and forced labour

We do not use child labour or forced labour in any form. We do not employ anyone under the age of 15. People under 18 do not do night work, dangerous work or other work that may harm their development.

Bribery and conflicts of interest

We do not offer, give or accept bribes or benefits that could influence decisions. We disclose possible conflicts of interest and avoid situations where personal interest could affect our work.

Data protection

We process the data of applicants, employees and customers only as needed and in line with the law.

Privacy notice

Environment

We comply with environmental protection laws and regulations.

If you notice conduct that breaches these principles or the law, you can report it confidentially to whistleblowing@wellpack.fi.
